About Me

My photo
I am a single, yes, very single (not to be confused with desperate). I am a Navy Brat, and grew up in many places. I have been here for the last 12+ years, I call it home. I have a fantastic family, wonderful roommates, a good job, and a cute car. I really don't know what else to say about myself, so I'll leave it at this for now.

Thirty, Flirty and Thriving!

I thought I was going to have a really hard time turning 30. I started this big list, and I was talking about it...trying to soften the blow. I mean, being LDS and single at 30 is at least somewhat taboo, isn't it? I guess I've never been one to follow the social norm...I do know how to blacksmith after all.

So back to my list of 30 things to accomplish by the time I turned 30...actually I had extra items as a back up if I needed more time to accomplish some. The majority of the list are new things to learn and try, but some are not firsts, for example I haven't accomplished my list item "kiss a boy" (if there are any worthy candidates out there, make yourself known). I worked hard to finish at least 30 items but didn't quite get there by my birthday, the end of fall semester put a slight damper on things. I decided that I have this year to accomplish the remainder of my list, which reminds me, I need to find it.

Another goal was to learn how to ride a motorcycle. I got this great idea in my head just over a week ago that I should learn now. I signed up for a class to learn, took the two day course, passed, got my motorcycle endorsement and bought a bike. Within one week I had accomplished that goal. It sure feels good!

I am now the proud owner of a no-name 250cc cruiser. It is orange, and I love it. I've driven about 40 miles on it since its delivery Saturday and plan to put many more miles on it. Eventually I see myself upgrading to a bigger bike, but for now this is good.

I've decided this year is going to be a great year. I'm going to accomplish a lot. I started taking classes through NAU, working toward a Bachelor's in Dental Hygiene. I'm going to finish a grueling 26.2 mile hike in New Mexico in a couple months with my brother. I'm going to see my best friend get married. I'm going to hike Havasupai. I'm going to set many more goals and make plans to reach them.

I sure wish I were a more exciting person so I had more interesting things to say. But alas, this is all I have for tonight.
